Lesson 3: Twitter

A.   Searching by topic

1.     Go to twitter.com

2.     Scroll to the bottom

3.     Click on Directory

4.     Put the name of your favorite animal (ex: butterfly) in the Search field and press Enter

5.     Click between the filters

6.     Now put a # in front of your animal name (ex: #butterfly) and repeat step 5

B.    Searching by name

1.     Follow the steps above

2.     Enter “Betty White” into Search field and press Enter

3.     Find the account with the checkmark next to the name

4.     Search for @BettyMWhite

5.     Click on “Betty White”

6.     What does the checkmark mean?

C.    Discovering Twitter terms

1.     Click on the little blue bird in the top left corner

2.     Scroll to the bottom

3.     Click on Help

4.     Search in the Help Center for “Twitter glossary”

5.     Look up the following terms:

·      Tweet

·      Retweet

·      Profile

·      Hashtag
